Aftercare instructions (second skin)
Second skin/tegaderm/saniderm - it goes by many names — this bandage can be left on for about 3-5 days.
“Oozing” under the tegaderm is completely normal, even a significant amount, but if the seal around the edge of the tegaderm is broken, it should be removed, and you should then resume normal aftercare.
If your tegaderm has become compromised in ANY way, such as being punctured, ripped, or lifted in any way that would allow water or air (and bacteria) to reach the tattoo, it must be removed, and the tattoo must be washed. Resume regular aftercare at this.
When removing bandage, the easiest way is in the shower or using warm running water. Start at a corner and slowly pull the bandage along the skin, not away from the skin. Move slowly and in small sections until bandage is fully removed.
Wash the tattoo with warm water and soap and pat dry with a paper towel. From here make sure to keep your tattoo moisturized until settled in.
If you experience any problematic skin irritation from the tegaderm bandage, remove it and contact us if you are concerned or have questions.

Aftercare instructions (traditional bandage)
Leave the bandage on for at least an hour or until you are home for the evening.
Wash your hands with antibacterial soap before touching your tattoo and remove the bandage. Pat dry with paper towels.
The day of getting your tattoo you can use aquaphor. Use the smallest amount for it. I, Wednesday Tattoos, personally do not recommend using aquaphor but instead using Crybaby Tattoo Glide instead. It’s a shop’s favorite. (It’s vegan & it smell good!)
Wash your tattoo at least once a day and moisturize it when it feels dry or itchy. Apply a thin layer of lotion 2–3 times a day to keep the tattoo from drying out and cracking.
DO NOT use Vaseline, petroleum or Neosporin.

Things to avoid
Avoid picking
Don't pick, scratch, peel, slap, rub, or irritate your tattoo. If it itches, gently tap it with clean palms.
Avoid direct sunlight
Avoid direct sunlight for at least 3 weeks, and use sunblock after that. Sunlight can make the skin more sensitive, which can irritate the tattoo and slow healing.
Avoid soaking in water
Don't soak your tattoo in water for 2 weeks, and avoid swimming and hot tubs.

How old do I need to be?
Heartfelt Tattoo tattoos people over the age of 18. We DO NOT tattoo minors.
-
What payment methods do you take?
Each artist will vary so please check in to make sure. You can never go wrong with cash.
-
Can I bring someone with me?
We are committed to providing a sensory-friendly environment. Tattoo shops can get overwhelming and overstimulating very quickly so please limit it to one person.
We understand that some need a “morale support” person but anyone you invite must respect our low-sensory environment.
A lot of clients come to us because we provide that sensory-friendly environment.
